3DCAMP Houston is a local organization supporting education in all things 3D. 3D technology, once reserved for the likes of sophisticated science fiction films, has advanced to now include a myriad of artistic and scientific disciplines. 3DCAMP Houston hosts an annual conference that attempts to showcase these advancements with presentations and interactive sessions exploring innovative 3D technologies. From holographic paintings that tantalize the viewer to 3D printers that produce completely formed sculptures, there is something amazing for everyone to experience.
3D technologies continue to permeate all aspects of our lives including entertainment, visualization, simulation, learning, and social engagement. In a region as large and diverse as Houston, these technologies continue to have profound and transformational impacts on our personal and professional lives. The 3DCAMP Houston conference attempts to capture that spirit in a day long gathering of individuals who are interested in learning more about 3D technologies.
The primary goal of 3DCAMP Houston is to encourage and educate individuals about the use of 3D in various disciplines, and we strongly support the STEAM educational framework, which encourages the blending and education of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.
The 3DCAMP Houston conference has been held two times: once in November 2009, and once in September 2012. Going forward, 3DCAMP Houston will be an annual event, with the next one planned for October 2013.
